机构简介:

The Korean Society for Horticultural Science (KSHS), founded in 1963, has become one of the largest and most active scientific societies in Korea with more than 1,900 registered members. The KSHS, the host of the 27th International Horticultural Congress (IHC 2006) and the 1st Asian Horticultural Congress (AHC 2008), is a highly acclaimed society in areas of agriculture, natural resources, and life sciences. The KSHS has been maintaining close relationships and has also been seeking for new means of closer cooperation in various ways with corresponding societies in neighboring countries, especially in East Asia.

The KSHS holds regular meetings twice a year, in May and October. Each meeting is usually held for two days and more than 500 papers covering every section of horticultural science and technology are presented. In addition to these oral and poster presentations, three symposia and a few plenary lectures by invited prominent scholars from all over the world are regularly scheduled. The KSHS publishes two journals, Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology (HEB, six issues a year) and Korean Journal of Horticultural Science and Technology (KJHST, six issues a year). Besides the journals, a number of other publications, including Cumulative Index and KSHS e-Newsletters, are available.

The HEB, the first official journal of the KSHS, was launched in 1965 as the ‘Journal of Korean Society for Horticultural Science’. The HEB is an international journal, published in English bimonthly, on the last day of even number months, and indexed in ‘Biosys Preview’, ‘SCIE’, and ‘CABI’. This journal is devoted to the publication of original research papers and review articles related to vegetables, fruits, and ornamental and herbal plants, and covers all aspects of horticulture, including physiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, protected cultivation, post-harvest technology, and plants in relation to the environment.

The Korean Journal of Horticultural Science and Technology (KJHST), the second official journal of KSHS, was launched in 1998 to publish papers with emphasis on technology and science of horticulture. As an international journal, KJHST is published bimonthly on the last day of even number months, and indexed in ‘SCIE’, ‘SCOPUS’, and ‘CABI’. The KJHST is devoted to the publication of technical and scientific papers and review articles in Korean or in English related to vegetables, fruit tree, and ornamental and herbal plants including cultivar development.

The society has provided horticulturists with information on the highest quality horticultural technology in breeding, biotechnology, production, post-harvest technology and utilization of fruit, vegetable crops, as well as flowers and nursery crops. We support the horticultural industry, which contributes significantly to the health, well being and enjoyment of life for people throughout the world.
